Introduction – Global X ETFs
Global X is a New York-based ETF provider specializing in narrow, thematic funds, including lithium, dividend income, electric vehicles, artificial intelligence, and more.
In their words, they “strive to offer investors something beyond ordinary.”
Let's dive into 3 dividend-oriented ETFs from Global X.
SDIV – Global X SuperDividend ETF
SDIV is the most popular dividend ETF from Global X. The fund offers global exposure to high dividend stocks. Specifically, the fund chooses the 100 highest-yield stocks in the world and weights them equally, after companies are screened for liquidity and stability. The index is reviewed quarterly.
This ETF seeks to track the Solactive Global SuperDividend Index and has an expense ratio of 0.59%. It has nearly $1 billion in assets and a dividend yield of 8.56%. SDIV makes distributions on a monthly basis.
DIV – Global X SuperDividend U.S. ETF
DIV is the U.S. version of SDIV above, but the fund's selection methodology is also a bit different. DIV looks for low volatility U.S. stocks that have consistently paid a dividend for the past 2 years, after which they're ranked by their dividend yield. The top 50 or so are then selected to comprise the fund. Like SDIV, this inherently causes DIV to tilt toward Energy and Financials.
DIV seeks to track the INDXX SuperDividend U.S. Low Volatility Index. It has an expense ratio of 0.45% and a dividend yield of 7.38%. The index is reviewed quarterly.
DIV makes distributions on a monthly basis.
SRET – Global X SuperDividend REIT ETF
SRET goes global but focuses specifically on REITs. It chooses the 30 highest-yielding REITs from around the world that exhibit low volatility. The fund seeks to track the Solactive Global Superdividend REIT Index.
SRET makes distributions monthly. It has an expense ratio of 0.58%.
Where To Buy These Global X ETFs
All the above Global X ETFs should be available at any major broker. My choice is M1 Finance. The broker has zero trade commissions and zero account fees, and offers fractional shares, dynamic rebalancing, intuitive pie visualization, and a sleek, user-friendly interface and mobile app. I wrote a comprehensive review of M1 Finance here.
